As an organization of square dance callers, part of our mission is to provide education and guidance to callers. CALLERLAB also maintains information (lists, definitions, and other information) on a variety of dance program from Basic through C-3A.

CALLERLAB’s Executive Committee has approved listing all CALLERLAB members who have obtained proper BMI and ASCAP licensing on our website. The link for this list is posted on the front page of the CALLERLAB web site www.callerlab.org . USA clubs and organizations sponsoring dance events are legally responsible for BMI and ASCAP licensing or insuring that callers they use for these events have proper licensing. Now clubs may verify callers licensing by checking the posted list or by calling the CALLERLAB Home Office.

USDA, THE WORLDS LARGEST SQUARE DANCE ORGANIZATION

As a “dancers” organization, the UNITED SQUARE DANCERS OF AMERICA, INC. serves to represent the square, round, contra, clogging, line and heritage dancer in decisions which are made at the national level relative to the development and growth of the dance activity. This representation takes place through the various State and Regional organizations affiliating with the USDA. As a united voice, the USDA is able to express the views of the dancers on a national level so that they might be relayed to other national and international groups with whom the dancers interact such as leaders, callers, cuers, instructors, commercial enterprises, other dancers, etc.

ARTS-Dance,  Alliance of Round, Traditional and Square-Dance Inc.

The Alliance for Round, Traditional and Square-Dance (the ARTS) is a newly formed entity that can better describe the diverse groups making up the 'greater' American Folk Dance community. Such a coalition will offer all dance organizations a chance for affiliation on a balanced and representative basis. The ARTS will allow for more effective public education of the square dance image, the health and fitness benfits of related dances to obtain corporate sponsorship, without diminishing any of the autonomy, or unique qualities and programs of any individual affiliate member.

The objective and purpose of the National Square Dance Campers Associations is to provide an opportunity for, and to encourage those interested in, both Modern Western Style Square Dancing and Camping, and to combine these two activities for mutual enjoyment.

The USA WEST POLICY was established to further good fellowship of square dancing and to provide communication, knowledge and education for the operation of all phases of square and round dancing in order to promote, protect, and perpetuate the future of the activity through mutual understanding and cooperation throughout the world. This is to be accomplished by guiding, assisting and making recommendations for the planning, preparation and production of the USA WEST SQUARE DANCE CONVENTION ®.This greatly benefits' the square and round dance activities with the main emphasis on the primary objective of education.http://www.usawest.net/

The IAGSDC supports gay and lesbian Modern Western Square Dance (MWSD) clubs worldwide, including the United States, Canada and Japan. Our organization was formed by and for lesbians and gay men and for their friends. You do not have to identify as gay or lesbian to dance with an IAGSDC club. Membership is open to all square dancers. All IAGSDC clubs dance the Callerlab specified levels of MWSD.
 

All Join Hands Foundation, Ltd, is a 501(c)3 charitable organization dedicated to supporting the funding of projects that will preserve and promote Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered (GLBT) square dancing and other associated dance forms. The projects will protect the heritage of the activity and contribute to its growth, emphasizing the social, physical, and mental benefits of square dancing. All Join Hands Foundation will also increase public awareness, educate and inform the general public about preserving the art of square dancing, educating the public on GLBT square dancers, and educate the public about square dancing as an art form.

Contralab, The International Organization of Contra Dance Leaders

CONTRALAB exists to improve contra dancing. As an organization, it is our goal to promote and improve the contra dance activity by providing education and guidance to the leaders of our activity.

The mission of The Foundation is to preserve and promote the folk art of American square dancing and related dance forms.

The Ghost Riders started in Concord, California with one man's idea. As you know, callers had been using records for a long, long, time. The reason was quite simple really, you see, they could practice anytime without calling a musician. Not only that, but they never had to worry about where they would take their cue. They'd call a "do-cee-do" at the guitar solo and a "right hand star" at the moment the fiddle took off. that is because the record never changed, it was the same each and every time they would call a tip.
